The Scarlett 18i16 is a powerful USB audio interface designed for multitrack recording and professional project studios. It offers 18 inputs and 16 outputs, including four 4th Generation mic preamps, which provide an impressive 69dB of gain. This makes it suitable for capturing a wide range of performances, from delicate vocals to dynamic instruments. Auto Gain and Clip Safe modes automatically manage recording levels, allowing engineers to focus on the performance rather than technical adjustments. The re-engineered Air mode adds an analogue console character, enhancing the presence and harmonic richness of your recordings.

Equipped with a comprehensive set of I/O options, including ADAT and SPDIF, the Scarlett 18i16 can integrate seamlessly with a variety of analogue and digital hardware. This extensive connectivity makes it a versatile hub for complex studio setups, allowing you to connect multiple instruments, processors, and effects. The advanced monitoring features include low-latency direct routing, six internal mixers, and A/B speaker switching, providing precise control over your audio environment. Additionally, the two custom-designed headphone amps offer independent monitoring, ensuring high-quality playback for both the engineer and the artist.

The interface boasts professional-grade 24-bit/192kHz conversion, derived from Focusrite’s flagship RedNet range, with an impressive 120dB dynamic range. This ensures clean and detailed sound capture, suitable for a wide variety of recording scenarios. The built-in talkback mic and dynamic input/output metering further enhance its utility in a studio environment, making communication and monitoring seamless during recording sessions.

Control over the Scarlett 18i16 is managed through Focusrite Control 2 software, available for both desktop and mobile platforms. This software allows you to set up mixes, manage levels, and adjust routing with ease, providing flexibility whether you're working at the computer or remotely from a mobile device. Along with the hardware, the Scarlett 18i16 comes with a comprehensive software bundle, including Pro Tools Artist, Ableton Live Lite, and various plugins, offering all the tools needed for a complete production workflow.
